What Skiers Say About Arizona Snowbowl

Arizona Snowbowl attracts primarily Phoenix-area locals and families seeking a convenient option within 2-3 hours of the valley. Reviewers consistently mention it as beginner-friendly with good lesson programmes and affordable lift tickets when purchased in advance, though dynamic pricing can make walk-up rates expensive. The small mountain size means all terrain can be covered in a day, and weekends see significant crowding with long lift lines, while midweek visits are notably quieter. Snow conditions are variable due to Arizona's climate, with man-made snow dominating and natural snowfall arriving in sporadic batches, leading to icy patches and limited terrain opening early season. Several users note the mountain's steepness despite its size, with some blues skiing harder than expected.

It was very good week as it was snowbox festival, busy on the slopes tho. Next time I go will be going without any music festival tickets because they are way too expensive overrated and a waste of money

The best holiday I’ve done, yes it’s fairly expensive but it’s so good I’d pay it all again. I honestly had the best time, best vibes, great music, great people- I didn’t want to leave!

Great area the new lifts last year were a big addition . Staying in Ogden is very reasonable and only 1/2 hour drive. Parking can be a pain.

The lift ticket costs are great during less popular times and the tickets include a fun $10 to apply toward food purchases.

I really enjoyed my ski lesson and finished much more competent and confident than I started that day.

I really recommend this ski resort, we stayed for 5 days. The slopes were fantastic. The accomodation was spacious and comfy. Me and my partner got snowboarding lessons and the instructor helped us to improve our techniques in a fun way.

The mountain is pretty fun. It’s pretty steep, and while we were there, it was snowing very beautiful. The very beginning runs were great and the advanced runs were pretty fun.

Its a quick 2 hr drive from Phx and is a great way to stay active in the skiing world! I am very happy with the new updates and the new bathrooms they have placed this year and excited to head back on a event day!

Went towards the end of the season and enjoyed pretty good snow for Az. All the runs were good and lifts had almost no line because we went on a weekday. There is a good variety for all levels of skiing and snowboarding.

Man made snow is pretty good and wasnt to icy on the day we went. Lift lines were pretty fast and it was pretty crowded but took less than 5 minutes to get on the lifts. Elevation is pretty high and breathing was a little labored by the end of the day. Overall a fun place to go.

One of only a couple resorts in Arizona and this is definitely a small mountain. The terrain is great for beginners and intermediate folks looking to cruise groomers with blown snow. Expert terrain and steep vertical is very limited here and even more limited to a few days a year when they get enough snow to open the upper bowl.

As an intermediate snowboarder, snowbowl has been an amazing place to learn new skills. There's plenty of room on the slopes, especially on the weekdays! Weekends get pretty busy, especially during season so if you're wanting lots of open room to learn or just shred I highly recommend going during the week! Ive never had food from base camp but I've heard it can get pretty pricy (which is a given at any ski resort) so if you're planning to eat go prepared. Other then that no complaints whatsoever.

For not having snowed in the last 2 months the runs were surprisingly good. Icy spots were easy to avoid and they did a good job grooming. The new bunny slope lift was a huge improvement. Some of the blues here are like blacks and vice versa. Its fun to explore though and the catwalks are always a favorite

The resort is great, they have a diverse amount of green a blue terrain, with a smaller amount of black runs, but those that are offer a fun challenge and variable terrain. Lift lines are never very long, the only downside is the snow comes in large batches but not very often.

Great small resort. Not a destination but if you live in AZ it doesnt get any better. Love the trees and the hidden gems. Does get crowded on weekends. Go midweek and you wont be disappointed.

I mean its Arizona so keep your expectations in line. This place really does the trick for those that live in Phoenix because youre only about 2-3 hours from the valley.

This place also has great spring season skiing where you can just wear a t shirt in May, if they still have snow.

Tips:
- if you plan on returning to the valley on a Sunday, be prepared for heavy traffic. It can take up to 6 hours to make it back
- grab a mango margarita from the mid-mountain bar! They are super tasty
- grab your tickets early to avoid VERY expensive tickets

Snowbowl is the only mountain near Phoenix, they have dynamic pricing which isn't always the best. Overpriced ski lift for a small mountain, you can ski every run within a day. Very crowded and long lines. Food is terrible, not worth the price.

Went there with some friends last winter and had a great time. The snow was nice and packed down, they take a lot of care of the grounds. Cant say I have anything negative to say, it was a pretty enjoyable and memorable time. Definitely would go again.

For being in Arizona, this is a fantastic resort. Sometimes it can be a little icy, but its always a good time.

The food at the lodge is actually pretty good here. Its a little pricey, but where isnt.

As a snowboarder I enjoy this park and dont find it over crowded with either snowboarders or skiers.
