The best small mountain ski resort feel with amazing terrain, especially when it dumps snow which it does a lot there! Very affordable and a great break from the hectic mess of the big resorts. Trade some vertical feet for a more peaceful, laid back, and high snow producing mountain.

We go to Wolfecreek every year. This year they hadn't had snow recently and the temps had been warmer than usual. Despite this the runs were well covered and groomed. It was and always is great!

This place is flat out awesome! You truly cannot get a better ski experience for the price.

This place is known for their early season snow that makes it very skiable by mid December.

Its definitely not luxurious but the skiing is truly fantastic if you like deep powder, no lines, and great tree skiing

A ticket is 91$ for a whole day pass and they have runs ranging from groomed to powder still and open areas to trees. Very friendly and quiet except during Christmas season.

Great resort, the park is pretty basic when its comes to size and rails, but the powder runs or great, tree runs arent great, and are definitely tricky for anyone who struggles with keeping their edge up, overall Ill be snowboarding at wolf creek for the rest of my life, but I would hope to see a few alterations if possible, mostly with the park, and with groomed runs. Otherwise the resort as a whole is a great place for all levels, great big inner areas for both ski and boarders, and many runs with challenging conditions and terrain, grooming is solid but in my experience could be better. The lodge itself is pretty basic, nothing crazy fancy and mostly when Ive gone we just get food and drinks from the outside grill, conditions getting to the resort tend to be nice and are well maintained due to the pass being a major trucking zone, the parking lot is alright, always well managed and safe, overall a great resort just as with all of them theres always room for improvement and it would mostly be for park, and grooming.

Modern amenities and a decent sized mountain, but still has the small old school ski resort feel. The powder is hard to beat, tree runs for days. A small area of begginer runs on the west side can be busy but there is plenty of blues and blacks with less traffic. Holidays are busy.

Wolf Creek Ski Area is where I learned to ski as a kid, so it holds a special place in my heart. It is a small resort, not a part of the big pass brands like Epic and Ikon. Its affordable, and homely, but has some of the best snow in Colorado. Its a great mountain to learn on but also an awesome mountain for expert terrain, with ridges to hike to from top of Alberta lift and fields of trees to find powder.

Its my local resort. Easy to get in and out of, great shuttle service in the parking lot. Hardly ever wait for a lift . Not too crowded.

Cant really recommend Wolf Creek. First it is a ski area not a resort so there is no lodging options, nor are there any overpriced shops to window shop while not skiing. Second, while not usually too busy, one generally finds themselves parking where they need to take a shuttle or ski out of the parking lot to access the lifts.once you finally get to the ticket office one finds themselves having to fork over almost $100 for a lift ticket during peak season. Dont get me started on the lift lines, ther actually was one I swear. Upon reaching the top of the mountain it seemed like there was 3 feet of fresh snow everywhere, like who wants that? Then getting hungry, I actually had to pay $12.00 for a half pound cheese burger.

Not a lot of people; Ive never waited over 10-15 minutes for a lift (even during busy days).
Has a solid beginner area where most people stay, and a back-side where theres less people and advanced runs. Because it is located in a National Forest, housing is limited to towns ~30-40 minutes away. Lift tickets are priced well, and the staff are very nice (unlike vail). There are quite a few tree runs and a cross-country ski area. One downside is the lack of a terrain park, so this resort is not for everyone. Finally, the resort is expanding, so expect news lifts/ runs in the coming years.

3 days after the last snowfall and there were still whole areas untouched by board/ski. Powder stashes up to my navel and the prettiest tree runs/chutes/cornice runs I've ever skied. Alberta lift isn't fast, but time well spent collecting your breath to gear up for the next run. Majestic. Waterfall area is as technical as you want it to be. Options abound for any skier, but if you want to push yourself go skiers right off of Alberta and just keep flying. Can't wait to go back!

Off the beaten path in Southern Colorado but a powder skiers gem. Snow can get very deep, lift lines are minimal. Hike to terrain is legit steep. Small mountain with tons of fun spots. Wont get bored skiing fresh powder all day. Next day after a storm hike for more fresh tracks.
