Mount Snow is the closest real mountain to both New York and Boston so gets busy. Weekends can be very busy. Weekdays much less so. Snow making is excellent and there has been some strong investment in new lifts on the main face. Best skiing is the north face with old lifts. Resort has boundary to boundary skiing so a surprising amount of tree skiing.
It gets cold so prepare accordingly!

Nice smaller mountain. Limited terrain but good for what the mountain is working with. Nice ski in ski out options.

Grooming crew usually does a great job with what they have to work with. Trees can be really fun with enough snow. Often icy (East Coast skiing!). Can be crowded on popular weekends. The bubble on the Bluebird chair is a lifesaver on cold and windy days.

The best hours at Mount Snow are the earliest of the dayclose parking, short lift lines, well-groomed and uncrowded runs. The later the day gets, the longer the lines become and the conditions deteriorate. On weekends and holidays, the runs get dangerously crowded with skiers and snowboarders whose abilities neither match the conditions nor the trails theyre on.
On-mountain victuals are expensive and unremarkable in terms of variety and quality. The best restaurant is in the new (ish) Carinthia lodge. If you like pizza, the main base lodge offers (pricey) fresh pies. For the kids, standard fareburgers, fries, chicken fingers.
If youre seeking adult beverages during the day, the Bullwheel in the summit lodge is boisterous but dont expect to find a table. Cuzzins in the base lodge has a rollicking apres scene. If you prefer off-mountain fare, venture a few miles south down Route 100 to Snow Republic Brewery (owned by a Marine, hence the decor and ambiance).
In general, visitors will generally find good skiing and conditions at Mount Snow, which explains why it is often overcrowded.

Mount Snow Vermont is one of gems of Southern Vermont!
Good weekend crowds and plenty of varied terrain allow a little bit of everything for most skiers and riders to fill their souls with for any given weekend. A true classic Vermont ski area well sought after by thousands of guest each day!

Mount Snow is the closest big mountain to mass/ct so it tends to be very crowded. Early morning or lunch time are your best bet. The live music and walk up brewery are awesome for apres ski. Lots of restaurants around and snow republic brewery is always a hit.

All the harder trails were icy like blue to double black the greens were fun and long but I would have preferred the blacks and double blacks to be a little less icy

Mount Snow is the first real mounta8n near New York and Boston so inevitably gets very busy. Part of Vail so Epic works here and they have invested some with two new lifts in the last few years. Snow mailing is fantastic both in terms of equipment and the skill and dedication of the crew.
Good spread of terrain with the more cruise blues on the main face and sun Brook, the North Face has more challenging blues and the best trees when the snow is right, the resort is a ski anywhere in boundaries so actually some really nice tree stuff. The final area is Arinthia which is a park rats dream. Loads of features, massive pipe and very very well maintained. Plus for both types of skiers/riders is that all the terrain park stuff is at Carinthia so no need to track around the mountain to find it and if you dont want it you never go near it.
New Carinthia lodge is very nice, older main and other lodges are old but work well.
10 minute drive to the lively Vermont town of Wimingto and there are a lot of good food options across the valley from pizza and fires to very very fine dining.
Loads of airbnbs and several nice hotels and inns to stay at
Solid resort wi5 excellent snow making

Mt. Snow is a lovely mountain. I really loved the amount of blue terrain and the wide open black runs for advancing into steeper terrain. It is a great intermediate mountain and has a really good lift system to reduce wait times on busy days. As for on mountain dining it is still ski resort food but its not bad and pretty average price.

The park was great and the lifts run quickly without any major hitches. And considering the recent weather the snow and base layer they had was great. Once real snow comes in it's gonna be alot of fun

I love this resort because you can access every single run from the top of the blue bird express chairlift. Some other amazing parts of this ski resort are the amazing apres ski accommodations such as the DJ booth and the gopro tent set up at the main base lodge. The costomor service at backside boards wich is the ski and board shop is amazing. The vermont country deli has the best chocolate chip cookie ive ever had. Some of my favorite restraunts are the last chair bar and grill wich has an amazing aracade but you should make sure to get a reservation during the winter. I would also recommend going to claras for dinner. this is a fancier restaurant with some great rib eye and lobster. I would recommend staying at the grand summit hotel wich is ski on ski off and has amazing accommodations such as ski check and a pool and gym. There is a great restaurant in the hotel called harimans wich is a great bar and grill with some amazing hamburgers and wings. overall I would definitely recommend this ski resort as it is 3 hours and 45 minutes from new york city and has some great snow early and late in the season.

I had an awesome experience at Mount Snow in VT. Beautiful resort, stunning mountain views. They have different runs depending on your level of experience. The resort is very well maintained. Multiple ski lifts, ski check, valet, restaurants, fire pits. All around a great family friendly experience!

Mount Snow is a solid option for a skier or rider coming from the NYC metro area, NJ or southern CT. Close enough for an easy commute and far enough to feel like you are in a ski town. For weekend trips there is plenty of bars/restaurants to go out for apres but not on the same quality level as say Killington or Stowe. In my opinion, Carinthia parks really makes the resort unique as there is a beautiful modern lodge with better then average food options and upstairs restaurant/lounge. For its close to the VT border proximity, Mt. Snow is a great option for most!
