Stowe is the highest peak in Vermont. With that being said there are some great steep runs and many options for woods. The best time to go is mid week as you will get a much quieter experience. On weekends lift lines may be 10 minutes long or even longer on holiday weekends. If I am ever looking to get away from crowds I will head over to the Spruce side and take the sensation quad. This lift accesses intermediate/advanced terrain only but is on the beginner side of the mountain. You cant beat the scenic views from the Gondola or the speed of the four runner quad. For food, there are two restaurants seated at the peaks, the Octagon and the Cliff house. If you head over to Spruce side there is a cafeteria as well as more fine dining in the hotel and some smaller places scattered around. My current favorite trail is Nose Dive, a steep wide groomer.

Amazing skiing on the East Coast of America. Stowe is a fabulous resort but a daily lift ticket is very expensive. Best to purchase an Epic day pass in advance in order to reduce the cost.Very welcoming, the staff are friendly and very helpful. Stay in the town of Stowe, fantastic restaurants and coffee houses. About 3 hours from Boston.

Had a great time at Stowe as a beginner transitioning into intermediate. Their green into blue runs are great step up from just doing purely greens. Everyone working there is very nice and friendly. I wish the Tollhouse green run lift was faster as it takes 15+ minutes to get to the top which isnt even the top of the mountain!! Nevertheless would visit Stowe again

Great mountain that offers a cozy feel. Over 100 trails and is a very popular spot for locals and for those from out of town. Can be on the pricey side in regards to lodging and food but is cute area and great to teach first time skiers.

Stowe is a place that used to be great but then vail ownership ruined it. Snowmaking is reduced. Grooming is poor. Patrol seems to barely care to open anything but a blue or green slope. And beer and food prices are astronomical.

Drove down during the weekday from Montreal. Significantly quieter, and free parking during the weekdays! First day there were only ~20 trails open, half were groomed. Then it snowed 5cm overnight and they groomed a bit more and ~30 runs were open. Ive got a season pass, but everything else at the mountain tends to be expensive. But the staff are incredibly helpful especially with advice on gear adjustments!

Stowe is the best ski resort in Vermont in my opinion, especially for skiing in the woods. The regulars know how to ski hard, if gas some great steep terrain for the East, and its doesnt get as many out of control skiers as Killington. The biggest downside is the lift lines and having to pay to park.

My family had changed over to skiing at Stowe Mountain a few years ago and to this day it provides the best time for family and friends. For the prime time to be on the mountains the bus system is extremely swift and provides a short wait to get to the mountain wether youre at a bus stop or waiting on the side of the road. I plan to ski here as much as I can.

Stowe is probably my favorite mountain on the east coast. That mountain has the most to offer as far as east coast goes. Good groomers, great tree trails and back country.

As someone who grew up skiing in Utah, I was skeptical about going to ski at Stowe while living in NYC. And while the snow in VT certainly isnt the powder of the west, I was pleasantly surprised at how much snow there was and how well the runs are maintained at Stowe. The lift lines were short, and even the gondola line, which took you to the top very quickly (in a seated, covered car I might add) wasnt too bad we only waited 10 minutes on a Saturday on Presidents Day weekend. It seems like there are a lot of food options around the resort (though we stuck with drinks only), and the ski-in church was a fun, quirky landmark that Ive never seen at any of the ski resorts Ive been to. Id visit Stowe again to ski if Im back in the Northeast!

Great mountain with several lifts that can get you up the mountain quickly. Mountain facilities on Mansfield side are old but very clean. The Spruce side is nothing shy of world class and as good as you will see in the industry. It does cost a slot to ski and ride at Stowe and all the ancillary things but for the experience you get it is worth the price.

Just ski moved to Burlington Vermont from Colorado so Im a little jaded when it comes to ski resorts, but in saying that I give Stowe a solid 4 stars for an East Coast resort. Its got everything ya want, enclosed gondola, high speed quads, some not so high speed lifts for that New England feel, its everything right about the east coast from the resorts down to the quaint ski town. Is it the steep with insane trees, no that would be Mad River Glen. Does it have the deepest powder, no that would be Jay. However unlike those other two Stowe and has more than enough powder and manmade snow with great coverage, terrains for Experts to beginners and a great instructional programme. Theres also the convenience factor being right outside Burlington VT. Like many other Vail owned resorts you find Stowe a convenient drive from an airport. In summery; its all the fun of Killington without New Yorkers/Bostonians to ruin the chill New England vibe. Super close to an international Airport, ample lodging ranging from New England Bed and Breakfasts to resort hotels and motels, plenty of food options, and lastly lets not forget Stowe is part of the Epic Pass Making Stowe the most affordable of the big east coast resorts. Im going to add a Little addendum for the Disabled Community: If you are a disabled skier/snowboarder or ride a sit down Stowe is where its at. The resort is extremely accommodating to disabled folks like us. Im a below knee amount and I find that unlike many of the other resorts Stowe is ADA compliant, the lift operators and staff are extremely helpful and because its part of the Epic Pass its the most affordable option for disabled riders and they have specially trained coaches instructors who focus is on making your day on the mountain safe and memorable. I cant recommend Stowe enough for those who are looking for a great mountain thats accommodating to our individualised needs.
