This is a reverse mountain where you drive to the top and ski down. Its got a nice village with lots of restaurants and shops. Theres night skiing at Silver Creek a separate mountain close by. You can ski both Snowshoe and Silver Creek mountains with the same lift ticket.Good black diamond runs and a double black in Western Territories where theres a 1.5 mile Cupp Run. From Richmond, VA its about 5 hours. This year over 141 of natural snow has fallen and its an awesome season of pow!

Snowshoe is tucked away in the hills of West Virginia. There not an interstate for an hour or more, and the remote location only makes it that much more appealing. Its the premiere location in the eastern US, and it draws its guests from the greater DC area and the southern part of the country.

Snowshoe consists of two skiing areas, the main basin (considered to be Snowshoe), and Silver Creek, which is a few miles down the road and accessible by shuttle bus. Snowshoe is very crowded on the weekends, but Silver Creek is rarely busy until late in the evening when guests come to night ski. Silver Creek also has tubing for those that dont ski or snowboard.

There are plenty of places to stay on the mountain and at a variety of pricing levels. There are a few good places to eat, but it can take a long time to be seated on busy weekends. Hint bring some food.

Overall, Snowshoe is a fabulous place to spend time in the winter. Also, check out the resorts summer schedule for music festivals, mountain bike and ATV races, beer tasting, etc.

I spent four days here about a week ago, it was a great trip. We had about 8 inches of fresh powder on the first day there. Most of the runs were open and the list were running efficiently. The restaurant had a pretty solid food and it wasnt terribly offensive. I will probably go back next year.

Great runs for novice and intermediate skiers! I have not been in years and I am sure that much has changed since my last trip but I found the slopes to be very well maintained.

My experience in Snowshoe Resort was awesome! Had lots of fun with my friends and enjoyed every aspect of the resort. Although the mountain isn't that big, if you choose the right time to snowboard you'll have lots of fun. Highly recommend as it one of the best low-cost resorts in the US

Snowshoe mountain has a uniqueness to it. Hidden deep in the WV mountains it is one of the few resorts with the accommodations at the top of the mountain instead of the bottom. Not much better than starting your morning by walking right out of your condo, popping your board on and ripping off down a run to get the day going. It has runs for riders of all skill ranges and at the end of your day the village has plenty of options for food and beverages.

Snowshoe mountain in West Virginia was my first visit to a large mountain and I absolutely had the best time despite it being my first time on skis! I even had plenty to do without skis (the rentals messed up my ankle)

Snowshoe is a gem, world class skiing in the Mid-Atlantic. When its hitting, and the Western Territory is open, it punches above its weight. The drive is the only drawback. Food and lodging is top notch- if it doesnt sell out. Id go more often if I could get there in under 5 hours of windy mountain roads.

Ski and snowboarding options plentiful, lots of different levels on the mountain.
Rental gear was decent but some items still needed to be purchased.
Accommodation clean and comfortable. Food options slightly expensive due to location. Tubing for adults and children were awesome just have to book ahead.

The slopes are beautiful and Snowshoe is an amazing experience. They don't have many restaurants but what they do have is Great! The condos are nice, most places have pool and hot tub access. My favorite is Silver Creek. Silver Creek has inner tubing beside the place. It's great for the whole family.

Great skiing for where it is. Really struggles with the snow some years though. Can be lots of fun when there is good snow. Usually some great vibes there especially when it is less busy. Cool place.
