Wonderful architecture and car free all ski-in ski-out resort. High up with good snow. Very family friendly. Has a great christmas activity program with fireworks and parades. One of our favourites.

The resort offers a great variety for everyone from kids, to advanced level riders for park and off piste terrain. Great views and places to eat on the mountain with the famous Folie Douce to finish the day! Lots to explore in Avoriaz town as well as shopping and entertainment in morzine just a 15 minute bus journey away

Lovely traffic free town. Plenty of easily accessible lifts from the town & runs down to the town. Good variety. Reasonably well-maintained.

Not the most picturesque Alpine village but traffic free and skiing down through the village centre has its charm. Relatively snow sure, easy access from Geneva and links to the wider Portes du soleil area makes this an easy choice for a long weekend

My favourite ski resort of all time. Traffic free, its a typical beautiful picture postcard type resort. Great options for accommodation, almost all ski in ski out. Great nightlife and lots of good restaurants too. Can't recommend highly enough

3rd time at this resort - but 20 years after the previous two visits. Surprisingly little has changed! Its still a fantastic purpose built and traffic free resort. You can ski through the town, everything is so convenient. So many bars and restaurants to choose from! Incredible atmosphere with the horse-taxis jingling up and down the hill, decorated trees and an apres that not only includes the drinking (folie douce serving up the usual fun but at a price and watch out for the overly aggressive bouncers) but also ice skating, sledging and the Aquariaz water park (definitely for younger kids this one!). Ski school is only two hours long which is a little awkward to plan the day around loved it as much now as back in the day!

Avoriaz is great as it's ski in/ski out. The Apres and food options are limited, but you do have the option of getting the telecabin down to Morzine. The Portes-du-Soleil ski area is vast and has lots to do. Would recommend.

A great, varied resort, with a nice combination of different runs. It's high enough that the snow is reliable and consistent. You do pay a premium for the benefit of the height and the facilities, but if you can stretch to it then it's worth it.
Potentially slightly more skewed towards beginner/intermediate riders, but there is definitely some more challenging parts around - worth going down into Moraine and Les Gets for an afternoon as well.

Nice resort with no cars so able to ski around. Folie Douce with amazing atmosphere, a great resort for going with friends. I tried snowboarding for the first time and found lots of options for lessons and runs that I could grow into as the week developed. Only downside was the lack of food options, particularly take aways.

Great ski in, ski out resort which makes getting on the slopes in the morning super easy. There are plenty of different ski areas that you can easily access from Avoriaz, making a week skiing very varied each day.
Lifts back up to Avoriaz town centre at the end of the day can take forever though.

We went to Avoriaz for the Snowboxx festival and absolutely loved it.
We loved all of the activities in place every day that gave you so much to do.
We loved all of the slopes some better than others but most we found were amazing and would definitely go back.
I think if you are a Skier you should definitely get the Portes Du Soleil lift pass as that gives you access to some amazing slopes.
Snowboarders also could use that lift pass but all the Snowparks and areas to hit rails and boxes are within the Avoriaz area so to save money, it may be best to purchase only the Avoriaz lift pass to get full value.
Overall Avoriaz is an amazing Ski resort and we would 1000% come back!

The best part of Aboriaz is the Ports De Soleil pass. Allowing great skiing across Chatel, Morgins, Avoriaz, Les Ges and others. Challenging skiing up Nyom in LesGet and Morgins and plenty for families and beginners in Avoriaz. Great Apres bars at the bottom of most gondolas. Restrains in Morzine are fantastic. From hostels to luxury catered chalets there is choices. Not as snow sure as it used to be but Avoriaz is guaranteed to provide a skiing holiday still. 4/5

Great ski in ski out. Tends to get busy later morning as skiers from Morzine head up. So slopes can get a bit too busy . I personally prefer skiing in les gets.

Lovely resort with ski in ski out features. I've been to resorts before (mainly morzine) where there's not much snow in the village but as avoriaz is in the mountain itself it's constantly topped up with snow. conditions can vary, I went for a week and it was white out 2 days with a lot of snow but that set me up for a great few days of bluebird skies and great powder. a lot of times they dynamite the slopes so you will hear that on a night but it's not entirely distracting, i found it pretty cool as you can see the helicopter and snowploughs etc. The slopes have a lot of blues, fewer greens, fair shair or reds and then about 10 ish blacks (from what i saw). I was snowboarding with my family who all ski and they're beginners so we was sticking to greens and blues, from what we found out some blues were closer to reds than greens, so be careful if you are not as confident in your ability; my sister ended up being stuck haha. the reds are great, a few red runs seem like you're off piste when you're not, lot of moguls, thick snow, jumps and drops etc. it's great. i only went on two blacks so i couldn't tell you a lot about these runs however the two i went on were great and challenging, un groomed too. always a place open for a bev, apres is great with the folie douce, (2pm-6pm) and then bars/eateries open from 4 usually. id recommend shooters bar for nice burgers but not nice toilets, the folie douce for amazing food, and the few restaurants by the local food shop. the food shops is great too full of fresh bakery and rotisserie chicken. you can get owt there and cheaper beer haha. beer is about 8 usually, gin 10, shots 4, cocktails 10.5 (euros)great for kids but equally great for adults. there's a snowmobile tour you can take 60 mins bezzing about in off piste with a guide it was amazing. about 90 euros. really recommend this. snowparks are great, i recommend the stash in between the trees it's great, massive features too. solid 9/10 resort.
