Was an amazing trip and very easy. We were looked after by skibeat and we were able to find a catered chalet for a affordable price the ski runs were superb and even all the bars in the local area were great with cheap booze and late closing times just out right wicked!!

Incredible resort. Lots of runs and easily ski or snowboard to other resorts. A few black runs in the area. Highest resort in Europe so incredible snow cover!

Its standout factor is the three valleys ski area, the largest in the world meaning on a week long trip you never have to repeat a slope, the apres ski options for drinking are excellent with the famous Folie Douce as well as Apres 360, food is expensive yet most of it was of very good quality, accommodation was very reasonably priced and of good quality (Cheval Blanc)

Arguably the best resort in Europe!
Incredibly well connected and fast lifts to the rest of the three valleys. Accommodation is usually cheap and ski in/out or close to slopes. It will not win any points for being a beautiful village but its incredible snow-sure, has fantastic après and great runs. There are a lot of beginner options, but with the business and party atmosphere, consider this if going with family. I cant think of many equivalent resorts for a group trip of mixed abilities, especially those that want to party

The most brilliant ski resort with amazing runs from high altitude, great lift system, great mountain restaurants over the entire 3 valleys and the 4th valley of Orelle. Its hard to think of a better resort.

VT is a great resort. Snow is never a problem due to its height and skiing variety available a plenty. Being part of the 3 valleys also allows you to ski a massive area with many more options.
Val Thorens has a youthful feel to it and is pretty lively day and night so probably suits the younger groups better than family groups

Val Thorens with kids.
We have skied Val Thorens before kids came along and loved the snow sureity of its high altitude and the massive ski area availble with the three valleys area pass.
Its altitude an come with bitterly cold winds and low visibility when the weather closes in but we've always been able to get out and ski at least the VT valley and it still has plenty of terain.
When it comes to kid friendly resorts VT might not be the obvious choice but with most accomodation ski in ski out we find it a lot easier than lugging kids skis through town centre to reach the nearest lift even if onlt a few hundred meters. The huge modern lift network means queues are mostly short, great fir impatient kids, and similarly there is enough terrain to fund somewhere not too crowded to build confidence. With a couple of kids parks added in its good all roind on the snow for kids in our experience. Add to this a swimming pool and bowling alley in town and plenty of casual dunning options and it seems like an overlooked option for family friendly skiing. Just be careful where you stay in town stayung away from the livlier student frequented accomodstion that can be noisey late at night.

This is my favourite European Resort overall- links to a wonderful ski area, excellent value for money (although not cheap by any means), snow sure, modern lifts and much friendlier than Tignes with much nicer scenery

Brilliant place for skiing/snowboarding, 3 valleys are connected, plenty of slopes, ski-in ski-out. But accommodation quality was basic and a bit overpriced for my expectations.

Brilliant for beginners and those who like to Apres hard!
Can ski in and out from a lot of places which is very helpful if nursing a happy head.
Apartment blocks are high rise purpose built structures, not glamorous. Some better than others.
Great for a uni trip!

Val Thorens in the 3 valleys is one of my all time favourite resorts. There is a huge ski terrain, plenty of apres ski and suitable for all levels, with plenty of runs for advanced skiers.

Lovely long wide runs. A little busy close to town but quieter up to. Plenty of food options and pretty good value (for a ski resort). Apres was good. Overall, we loved it and would definitely come back

Val Thorens is great for both beginners and experts. It has a great range of runs. I was part of a ski school at intermediate level and we ended up at different places everyday. Although it was the end of the season because it is one of the highest resorts, or guide was able to hunt out the best snow and runs that werent overcrowded. Val Thorens is also known for some of the best après which didnt let us down.
